STEP 2Creating Your MP3 File

Using the iTunes
To transfer voice memos (audio recordings) to iTunes

Download iTunes

  1. Connect the mini-B USB connector into the TuneTalk Stereo (or the USB 2 connector that came with your iPod) and the other end into any powered USB port on your computer.
  2. Your computer will automatically launch iTunes and download your voice recordings in the Music folder of the LIBRARY. Your voice memos are saved in the WAV file format.

  3. Choose "MP3 Encoder"

    Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing > MP3 Encoder

You can't skip this step if you already chose "Mp3 Encoder" before. **
  4. Find and select your voice memo in the Music folder. Click the Advanced menu, and select "Convert to MP3"

  5. The file will be duplicated in MP3 format, find the MP3 format file ("File > Get info") and then drag it from your iTunes Library window to your Desktop.

** The second file will be MP3 format file. **

  Using the Audacity

Making a mp3 file with Audacity

  • Easy editing with Cut, Copy, Paste, and Delete.
  • Use unlimited Undo (and Redo) to go back any number of steps.
  • Edit and mix an unlimited number of tracks.
  • Use the Drawing tool to alter individual sample points.
  • Fade the volume up or down smoothly with the Envelope tool.

  • Export MP3s with the optional LAME encoder library.
  • Import and export all file formats supported by libsndfile.
  • Note: Audacity does not currently support WMA, AAC, or most other proprietary or restricted file formats.

Select "File/Export as an MP3..." If this is your first time using this feature in Audacity, the program will prompt you to identify the location of the MP3 encoder file. Simply find and select the MP3 encoder you downloaded earlier. Once you've done this once, Audacity will never ask you to do this again.
